Sir Patrick Chooses BallyHoo Balloons

Now, as explained in my previous article, I was not able to blog in July.  Now this is a great pity as one thing that I would have loved to have brought to your attention earlier is this piece of news about one of our clients BallyHoo Balloons.

As many of our local readers will be aware, Huddersfield born actor Sir Patrick Stewart, OBE, is the Chancellor of the University of Huddersfield.  This means that there is quite often a flurry of excitement about town and on local news stations when he’s visits the town to carry out his duties.

July saw double the excitement; not only did he agree to be at the University to attend degree ceremonies at St Peter’s Hall, he arranged to do it on his 70th birthday, followed by a party to celebrate.  The extra excitement was brought to our client, BallyHoo Balloons of Holmfirth, as they were fortunate enough to be asked to supply the balloons for the event.

The birthday celebrations took place on Tuesday 13 July at the University’s new Creative Arts Building. We only became aware of BallyHoo’s involvement when we bumped into Val Dewey at a networking event.  She was keen to show off the photographs and samples of the balloons, and we were keen to put up here on our blog. Ballyhoo Balloons is owned and run by Paul Garlick and Val Dewey.  The business has been established since 1991.  You can view more of what they can do on their website and they can also be found at their Ebay shop, selling party and fancy dress paraphernalia.
